Despite threats to veto, President Trump signed $1.3 trillion FY 2018 omnibus spending bill, which will fund the government through September 30th. The bill increased 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) funding by $20 million more than FY 2017. The total 21st CCLC funding level is $1.21 billion. The Child Development Block Grant, Title I funding, School Health funding, Career Technical Education and others received an increase as well.
Advocacy efforts cannot stop. Up next is the FY 2019 budget. 21st CCLC is completely eliminated in the President’s budget.
