The National AfterSchool Association (NAA) is proud to announce the Kansas Enrichment Network (KEN) as its newest affiliate! This partnership reflects a shared dedication to advancing the afterschool and out-of-school time (OST) profession and strengthening programs that benefit youth and families in Kansas and across the country. Affiliates like KEN are key to cultivating a robust OST ecosystem that champions equity, fosters opportunity, and drives positive outcomes for young people and the adults who support them. As an NAA affiliate, KEN will play a vital role in connecting OST professionals in Kansas to high-quality professional development, advocacy initiatives, and a growing national movement.
“Our partnership with NAA is an exciting opportunity to strengthen OST programs across Kansas,” said Michael Lemon, director of the Kansas Enrichment Network. “Together, we can enhance program quality, advocate for the value of OST, and support the professionals whose work empowers youth, families, and communities statewide.”
Affiliates are carefully selected and cultivated for their alignment with NAA’s mission, strong organizational foundation, and commitment to building meaningful connections among OST professionals. By joining this dynamic network of 35 affiliates nationwide, KEN will bring local expertise and leadership to a shared effort to elevate the OST profession.
“NAA’s affiliates are vital to our mission of elevating the OST profession and supporting the dedicated professionals who make afterschool programs possible,” said NAA COO Heidi Ham, who oversees NAA affiliations. “We are thrilled to welcome KEN as a new partner in advancing our shared vision of ensuring every young person has access to high-quality afterschool experiences.”
Through this partnership, NAA and KEN will work together to deliver impactful resources and advocacy that benefit youth, families, and OST professionals. KEN will also gain access to NAA’s robust network of leaders, initiatives, and tools that focus on advancing field leadership, improving job quality, and promoting equity within OST programs.
